Minister Annie M. Coleman, born on September 12, 1946 to the parents of Cee Bell and Walter Coleman in Rehoboth, Alabama, passed away on May 31, 2023. Minister Coleman accepted Christ at an early age and joined a church in Alabama. She completed her high school education in Boykins, Alabama, and later moved to New York to further her education and seek employment.

Minister Coleman became a nursing aide at Allen School for physicians aides in Jamaica, New York, and worked at Peninsula Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York. Her passion for caring for the sick extended to those spiritually in need as well. She received her missionary and evangelist licenses under the leadership of Pastor Henry C. Maddox of New Beginning Church and Pastor Clinton Petway of Ye Shall Know the Truth Baptist Church.

She was known for her love for fishing, gardening, singing in the gospel group The Anointing Voices of Far Rockaway, NY, and sewing, particularly making quilts for her grandchildren. Minister Coleman was also well known for her cooking and her devotion to discussing the word of God, often leading prayer and worship meetings in the Community Center of her apartment building, Canterbury Apartment.

Minister Coleman was preceded in death by her parents, Cee Bell and Walter Coleman, four brothers, and two sons, Joseph and Anthony Mabry. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Mabry of Alabama and Tamica (Nikki) Mabry of New York; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two goddaughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, caring friends and neighbors.

The service took place on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Community Church, located at 15990 Alabama Highway 5, Catherine, AL 36728, with Pastor Henry L. Seltzer officiating. Her grandsons served as pallbearers, and her granddaughters as flower bearers. The interment followed at the church cemetery.
