Philondria Earline Smith, known affectionately as “Cookie”, was born on May 16, 1984 in Demopolis, AL, to Eddie Pearl Jackson and Phillip E. Smith. Cookie confessed her faith in Christ at a young age and was baptized on August 17, 1992. Initially, she joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. JT Simmons and later moved her membership to Willow Spring under Rev. Calvin Johnson.

Cookie was a faithful and devoted member of Willow Spring Missionary Baptist Church until her passing. She served in both the Youth and Adult Choirs at Willow Spring and also the Young Adult and Adult Choirs at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Her love for singing was undeniable.

A 2003 graduate of Greensboro High School West Campus in Greensboro, AL, Cookie went on to attend Concordia College in Selma, AL. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Roosevelt Jackson, paternal grandmother, Lula Mae Williams, and four aunts.

Her life will be fondly remembered by her parents, Eddie Pearl Jackson of Greensboro, AL and Phillip Smith of Stone Mountain, GA; her two devoted children, JaMydria and Ja’Kalvin Smith; and her brother, William (Ashley) Jackson of Tuscaloosa, AL. Cookie also leaves behind her maternal grandmother, Clara D. Jackson of Douglasville, GA; three aunts, Arbedella Clack of Douglasville, GA, Leanora (John) Johnson of Tuscaloosa, AL and Tarwanda (Frank) Perkins of Greensboro, AL; one uncle, Rev. Jessie (Marilyn) White of Tuscaloosa, AL; a devoted friend, Daquan Mabry; three nieces; one nephew; and a host of cousins and friends.

Services for Cookie were held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, located on Alabama Highway 14 East in Greensboro, AL 36744. The service was officiated by Pastor Calvin Johnson, with Sis. Lena Marks serving as Mistress of Ceremonies.
