Funeral services for Mary Alice Moore were held Sunday, July 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 267 County Road 47, Greensboro, with Pastor James Frank officiating.

Mary Alice Moore was born on July 17, 1952, in Faunsdale to the late Andrew and Channie Haywood. Mary Alice confessed Christ and joined the Pine Grove Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member throughout her life.

Mary Alice was known for being loved by everyone who knew her. To know her was to love her. She had a warm heart, a caring spirit and a welcoming presence that made everyone feel like family. Her kindness, compassion and genuine love for others left a lasting impression on all whose life she touched.

Mary Alice Moore transitioned from this Earthly Plane of Existence on June 27, 2026, at her home in the presence of her devoted husband, William, and a daughter, Kawanza.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Channie Haywood; a sister, Sarah Key; and brothers Jesse, Henry, Garifield, Peter, and Andrew Haywood Jr.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories a devoted husband, William Moore of Greensboro; children, Marcus (Pamela) Moore of Montgomery and Kawanza (DJ) Alexander of Tuscaloosa; a beloved goddaughter, Dellila Zanders of Gallion; a sister, Mary Francis (Percy) Zanders of Gallion; a brother, Allen (Lorene) Haywood of Chicago, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Pearl (Douglas) Tubbs of Greensboro; a brother-in-law, Charlie Moore of Greensboro; uncles, Harry Jones of Greensboro and Joseph (Betty) Haywood of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, DeMarcus (Gerica) Moore of Atlanta, Ga., Nesha Travis and Keyonnia Moore, both of Tuscaloosa, Asia Ruthlege of Houston, Texas, and JaMarcus (Vanessa) Moore, Markayla Moore and Markenzie Moore, all of Montgomery; a very special niece, Carolyn Pritchett of Irondale; a very special great-grand, A’Nylah Barron of Tuscaloosa; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grands and other relatives and friends.
