Jessie Terry Abrams, 59, of Sawyerville, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Agnew Funeral Home of Greensboro announced her passing.
Jessie dedicated her life and career to caring for others. She was known for helping those in need without hesitation, and her faith served as the foundation of her life.
During retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her children, celebrating the accomplishments of her grandchildren, and spending time with family. She also took pride in home improvement projects, including remodeling her home and starting a garden with her sister.
Whenever she returned home, she made it a priority to attend her beloved church, Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church in Sawyerville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Abrams Sr.; her mother, Elizabeth Apkin Terry; and her father, Albert Terry Sr.
She is survived by her daughters, Charlene Williams of Huntsville, Amelia Prisco (Michael) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Raven Williams (Terrell) of Tuscaloosa, and Jasmine Terry of Sawyerville; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her sisters, Carolyn Terry of Sawyerville and Ashley Poke of Eutaw; her brothers, Alvin Terry of Baltimore, Maryland, Daniel Terry (Sherrita), Phillip Terry (Marilyn), James Terry (Tracy) of Sawyerville, Albert Terry Jr. (Jennifer) of Birmingham, Lorenzo Terry (Jessica), Kerry Washington (Cameo), and Maurice Royal of Tuscaloosa; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A public viewing was held on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Agnew Funeral Home in Greensboro.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church, 68 Jackson Road, Sawyerville.
