Reginald Lamar Mickens was born on April 15, 1971, and passed away on July 31, 2024.

The Homegoing Celebration was held Saturday, August 10, at 11:00 AM. The service was held at Mars Hill Missionary Baptist Church, located in Greensboro, Alabama, 36744. The Reverend Nathaniel Carter, who is the pastor, and Reverend Dr. Bryan McCullough officiated the service.

The scripture reads, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:4).

Reginald Lamar Mickens was born on April 15, 1971, to Roenia Mickens. He accepted Christ at an early age. He departed this life on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

Reginald leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Davin Mickens of Mobile, Alabama, and Brendon Mickens of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; one grandson, Josiah Mickens; and a devoted and loving mother, Roenia Mickens of Greensboro, Alabama. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary (Keven) McDaniel of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Gwendolyn Bell, and Marilyn Mickens, both of Greensboro, Alabama, and Maudine (Carl) Burrell; as well as by his nieces, Miranda Ball, LaWanda Bush, Cynthia Bush, and Natasha Bush, all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Additionally, he leaves behind his brothers, Kevon Bush of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, James Williams of Florida, Johnnie Cannon of Tennessee, Johnny (Annie) Sherman, Emmett (Angela) Sherman, Anthony (Cindy) Sherman, David Sherman, Tony McGee, and Christopher Bush, all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. His aunts, Nasyima Abdallah, and Ms. Willie Matthews of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Paula Scott of Michigan, and Rebecca Green of Greensboro, Alabama, also survive him, along with Lynn Mack of South Carolina.

His uncles, Charlie (Joyce) Green, Melvin (Deborah) Green, and Addison (Geneva) Cabbil, all of Greensboro, Alabama, Arthur (Marvinlyn) Green, Charlie (Mary) Matthew, and Otis (Carolyn) Matthew, all of Georgia, James Matthew, and Earnest (Sealey) Matthew, all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Nathaniel Matthew of Virginia, will also remember him fondly. His longtime devoted friend as a brother, Lorenzo Lanier, along with a host of other relatives and friends, will also cherish his memory.
