Margaret Joyce Wilkerson Weeden, 84 of Greensboro, passed away June 13, 2024 at Moundville Health and Rehab. A graveside service was held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Mt. Hermon Cemetery with Rev. Steve Vernon officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Visitation was held at Bible Methodist Church in Greensboro from 10:00 to 10:50 am.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Bert and Tommie Lee Wilkerson, brothers; Gerald and Frank Wilkerson, sister; Sue Wilkerson Souders, Husband; Jack Weeden and infant daughter; Cynthia Shalene.
She is survived by her sons; Bert Weeden, Russell Weeden (Tammy), sister; Barbara Wilkerson Frix, grandchildren; Craig Miller (Kelly), Cara Miller, and great grandchildren; Cadence and Cash Miller.
Joyce was born and raised in Greensboro and graduated from Greensboro High School. Jack and Joyce married and raised their boys in Greensboro. Joyce worked several years at Vanity Fair in Demopolis. She also worked several years at various flower shops and later she and Jack decided to open their own shop where they worked together for many happy years. Joyce was a wonderful and talented baker, she loved to share her delicious desserts with first responders, her church family, and friends. Joyce will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers were Patrick Howard, MichaelClemmer. nephews; Steve Weeden, David Weeden, Lee Jackson, and cousin; Joe Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers were Moundville Health and Rehab, Southern Care Hospice, Hale County EMS, Hale County Fire Association, and Hale County Hospital.
