Black Belt Food Project seeks input on Farmers’ Market

Black Belt Food Project is looking for community participation in a survey for the South Street Farmers Market that is planned to start in downtown Greensboro. The survey takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed through the Black Belt Food Project website, blackbeltfoodproject. org. They are seeking community members in Greensboro, Hale County, and surrounding communities to participate in the survey.

“We want to ensure we’re building a market that works for our community,” the organization said of the survey in its announcement.

Black Belt Food Project announced the beginning stages of the South Street Farmers Market to be located in downtown Greensboro. The potential location for the farmers market will be located in the South parking lot of the Department of Human Resources building, behind the Abadir’s cottage on South Street. The market is proposed to open every Tuesday from 2 to 6 PM and utilize the Abadir’s cottage for educational food programs that coincide with the market.
