Long-serving Hale County commissioner served with Wash. State paternity suit

A legal notice in this week’s Greensboro Watchman names Donald Ray Anderson, a long-serving Hale County Commissioner from the Sawyerville area and representative of District 2, as the alleged father in a Washington State child dependency case.

The notice refers to a hearing for a petition for Dependency filed on January 20, 2023, regarding a two-year-old child whose mother is Majerae Iresa Gates. The notice says a petition for dependency in the matter was filed on Jan. 20 of this year. The child, according to court filings, was born Sept. 19 of 2021.

A hearing is scheduled for October 16, 2023, at the Regional Justice Center Courthouse in Kent, WA. The court directs all named parties to appear and answer the petition, with the option of appearing in person or via telephone.

The notice is dated Friday, August 11, 2023, and signed by Catherine Cornwall, King County Superior Court Clerk. It appears on Page 4 of this week’s Greensboro Watchman.
