Martha “Lucille” R. Thomas, age 75, of Greensboro, Ala., passed away September 28 at Hale County Hospital. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, at Antioch Baptist Church with Bro. Arthur Thomas officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel South directing. Visitation was held one hour prior to services at the church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Viola Reynolds; brothers, Walter, William, and Andrew Reynolds; sister, Elizabeth Reynolds; and grandson, Timothy Drummond.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Paul W. Thomas, Sr.; daughter, Tanya Thomas; sons, Paul W. Thomas, Jr. and Terry F. Thomas; sisters, Joyce Gray (Bryant) and Rebecka Redd; grandchildren, Louise A. Hill and Brittney D. Drummond; great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Hill; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives.

Lucille was born on October 20, 1946 in Greene County, Ala. She grew up in there and later moved to Greensboro where she married Paul Thomas, Sr. They were married for 56 years. She worked as a seamstress for 45 years. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and spoiling her grandchildren. Lucille was known in Hale County for her sour cream pound cake. She also enjoyed cooking, painting, crafting, and gardening. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and she will be deeply missed by all.

Pallbearers were Jon Thomas, Wayne Etherage, William Gray, Brian Seale, Jorge Piedra, and Jamie Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers were Sueko Hutchins, Elaine Johnson, Charlotte Porter, Patricia Cork, Sam White, Wilbert Johnson, Sharon Vail, Arthur and JoAnn Thomas, John Ryan, Homemakers Club of Greensboro, and Antioch Baptist WMU.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, American Heart Assoc., or the National Cancer Institute.
