David Dariel Weatherspoon died May 3 in Chilton County at the age of 39.
He was born Feb. 25, 1982 in Tuscaloosa to David and Carolyn Weatherspoon. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Star of Bethlehem C.M.E. Church under the leadership of the Rev. John I. Samuel, Jr.
He was educated at Hale County High School. He was later employed at the Rail Works and Station in Florida. He was a very outgoing and cheerful person.
Survivors include his wife, Victoria Lockett Weatherspoon of Tuscaloosa; three stepsons, De’Andres Lockett, Jermaine Lockett, and Desmond Lockett; a brother-in-law, Joseph (Anderia) Lockett; and mother-in-law, Lucille Lockett; loving parents, David and Carolyn Weatherspoon; son, KeAvious Mansion of Moundville; daughter, C’Niya Weatherspoon-Davis of Tuscaloosa; grandmother, Odell Smith of Moundville; God-grandparents, Birdie (John) Matthews of Tuscaloosa; three brothers, LaCorrey Weatherspoon of Moundville; KeeAndrea (Binetta) Griffin of Toledo, Ohio, and Jaylane Weatherspoon of Moundville, Ala.; three sisters, Anderia (Orlando) Blackman of Tuscaloosa, Quanteria (Jaivontaye) Spates of Moundville; a special friends, Jeanete Ivory; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 8 at Star of Bethlehem C.M.E. Church in Moundville with the Rev. Jermaine Woods officiating and Washington and Paige Mortuary directing.
