Timothy Banks, Sr. died March 4 at Regency Hospital in Meridian at the age of 48.

He was born Nov. 28, 1973 to Lizzie Bailey and Samuel McGuffie. He accepted Christ and later joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church. 

He loved his music and his family, as well as cooking and riding his motorcycle. He had a passion for driving big trucks and was the owner of Big Banks Trucking. He was known to friends and family as “Tido” or “Tido 3000.” 

Survivors include his wife, Shameka LittleBanks of Tuscaloosa; two sons, Timothy Banks Jr. and Amos Crooks of Greensboro; a loving mother, Mrs. Lizzie Bailey Banks; father, Samuel McGuffie Sr. of Detroit; two sisters, Pamela Banks of Montgomery and Maria Long of Detroit; five brothers, Kendrick Banks and Howard Bailey, both of Birmingham, Samuel McGuffie Jr., Kent McGuffie and Devine McGuffie of Detroit; seven aunts, Guster McCalpine, Dinah Johnson, Sarah Lee Gaitor, Georgia White and Geraldine Frank of Greensboro; Betty McGuffie and Julia McGuffie, as well as other family and friends.

Graveside services were held Saturday, March 12 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Antonio Shelton officiating and Washington and Paige Mortuary directing.
