Tuesday, March 15, the City of Greensboro met with county officials and the local chapter of the Lions Club to sign the deed to Lions Park.

Talks began nearly a year ago, in April 2021, when the City of Greensboro began negotiations for Lions Park. Greensboro did not own all of the property on Lions Park, which was under the supervision of the local Lions Club and partially owned by Hale County.

Officials and leaders, such as Greensboro Mayor J.B. Washington, Greensboro Police Chief Michael Hamilton, and Greensboro Methodist Preacher John Alexander were there for the discussions last Tuesday. Those in attendance looked on while Mayor J.B. Washington signed the papers that made the deal final.
