Jake Lee Taylor, 78, died December 30, 2025, at his home in Sawyerville, Alabama. He was born August 7, 1947, to the late Winnie Lillie Waller and James Taylor Sr.

He professed hope in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church. He was united in holy matrimony to Annie Mae Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie Mae Taylor; a son, Cornelius Wilson; a grandson, Anthony Chandler; one brother, Henry Waller; and two sisters, Leola Waller and Rosie Waller.

He leaves to cherish his memories twelve children, including six sons: Fredrick (Ebony) Wilson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Jake Wilson of Sawyerville, Alabama; Johnny Wilson of Greensboro, Alabama; Tyrone Taylor of Sawyerville, Alabama; Michael (Ucilla) Wilson; and Calvin Weatherspoon and family of Boston, Massachusetts. He also leaves six daughters: Annie Wilson of Sawyerville, Alabama; Lillie Lewis of Greensboro, Alabama; Ora (LaWayne Sr.) Custard of Calera, Alabama; Janet Wilson of Greensboro, Alabama; Dreania (Anthony) Chandler of Marion, Alabama; and Tereasa Taylor of Sawyerville, Alabama.

He is also survived by five brothers: Isaac Taylor of Atlanta, Georgia; James (Cora) Taylor Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; Bobby Waller of Sawyerville, Alabama; Curtis Taylor of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and Clarence Waller of Sawyerville, Alabama; two sisters, Sharron Daniels of Cleveland, Ohio and Ora Nell Waller of Sawyerville, Alabama; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A homegoing celebration was held Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Third St. Church of God, 1102 3rd Street, Greensboro.
