Jessie Lee Britford, affectionately known as “Man,” was born on October 2, 1960, in Greensboro, Alabama, to Louella Britford and Hayward Hannibal. He passed away on April 18, 2025, at the age of 64.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at New Life Missionary Baptist Church in Greensboro. Bishop Stephen C. Moore, the church’s pastor, officiated the service.
Jessie was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his son, Jessie Jr.; his mother, Louella Britford; and his father, Hayward Hannibal. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Jannie, Pearl, and Willie Mae; and six brothers, James, Jessie James, Albert, L.C., Sonny, and Johnny.
He is survived by three daughters, Christine Vaughn, Cynthia Vaughn (Eddie III), and Towanda Vaughn; one son, Micheal Britford; three sisters, Mamie Pearl Martin (James), Willie B. Thomas (James), and Willie Emma Britford; and three brothers, Hubert Britford, Jack Britford (Hattie), and Joseph Britford. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kelvin Britford, Elisha Smith, and Jamarcus Green, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
