The 11th annual Ben Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Bass Tournament will be on Saturday, April 27. Participants will meet at Lock 8 in Akron and will leave dock in order of registration after the first name is drawn from a hat prior to the launch. Pre-registered participants will be notified when to launch by a safe-light take off in the order their entry forms were received. There is a $100 entry fee per boat registered for the tournament. All entries will be automatically entered into the “Big Fish” category of the competition. The final weigh-in will begin at 3PM the same day.
There is a limit of 5 fish per entry. Pay-out is based on a 50-boat entry. Cash prizes are as follows: 1st Place, $1,500; 2nd Place, $800; 3rd Place, $300; 4th Place, $200; 5th Place, $100; and the Big Fish prize, totaling $500. Raffles and prize drawings will also be held during the competition and awarded alongside the prize money.
