The City of Greensboro is offering an Amnesty Day on April 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM. The amnesty program provides an opportunity for those with certain municipal court charges to clear their case without the concern of being physically arrested.
Amnesty is offered to all individuals who have received traffic or parking tickets, failed to appear, or pay fines, and for whom warrants have been issued or are pending on these charges. Anyone wishing to take advantage of this program may do so by contacting the municipal court. Persons may either appear in open court at the Greensboro Municipal Court located at 1101 Main Street Greensboro, AL 36744 on April 11, 2024, or present themselves to the magistrate at the municipal court prior to that date.
Individuals with outstanding fines or who have failed to appear on municipal court charges are encouraged to present themselves to the court on or before the above date to seek resolution to their case.
It is important to note that only individuals with outstanding warrants for failing to pay fines or attend court on their assigned date are eligible for this program. Should any eligible individual with a warrant come into contact with law enforcement prior to taking advantage of this amnesty program, they are subject to immediate arrest. Only cases that have already been adjudicated by the court are eligible for warrant amnesty. Typically, these are for failure to pay fines or failure to appear in court.
For information concerning the Amnesty Day, call the Court Clerk’s office at 334-624-8119 EXT 3 or come in person to the Court Clerk’s office located at 1101 Main Street Greensboro, AL 36744.
