- ALEA counts six traffic deaths over Labor Day weekend, none on the waterState troopers investigated six fatal traffic crashes during the four-day Labor Day enforcement period, Sept. 4 through 7, the same number as in 2025, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said Sept. 8. None of the fatal crashes was in Perry County or the surrounding counties; they occurred in Baldwin, Cleburne, Colbert, Shelby and Lauderdale counties.
