Carolyn J. Ellis was born February 9, 1953 in Hale County, Alabama to the late Calvin and Sarah Jackson.
She entered into eternal rest on December 24, 2022 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at the age of 69.
She confessed Christ at an early age but rededicated her life in 2019 and joined New Life Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health began to fail.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her siblings, Elnora Green, Margaret Portis, Lovell Johnson and Leroy Britten.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving children Marilyn Jackson of Greensboro, Alabama, Sylvester (Alberta) Jackson of Newnan, Georgia, Ethel Yevette Ellis of Greensboro, Alabama, Chester (Cassandra) Ellis, Jr. of Newbern, Alabama, Waymon Ellis of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Chassey (Marvin) Bryant of Northport, Alabama; her siblings, Josie Abrams of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Sara McCalpine of Greensboro, Alabama, Mary Jackson of Greensboro, Alabama, Jessie Portis of Sawyerville, Alabama, Otis Jackson of Greensboro, Alabama, Albert Jackson of Greensboro, Alabama and Calvin Jackson, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama; fifteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Sunday, Jan. 1 at Sarah Christian Cemetery in Greensboro with Bishop Stephen Moore officiating and Washington and Paige Mortuary directing.
