Two people were arrested August 6 after a fight the previous afternoon at Thomas Trailer Park on County Road 28.
Ja’Meria Denise Strong, 20, of Greensboro, was arrested for domestic violence, third degree (assault). Tonydreon Lavosier Ross, 19, of Newbern, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Both charges are misdemeanors.
According to complaints filed in Hale County District Court, Strong and Ross, described in the documents as girlfriend and boyfriend, got into a physical altercation at the trailer park around 1 p.m. August 5, and several bystanders then joined the fight and assaulted Ross.
Strong got into a white Chevrolet Camaro belonging to Ross and drove it at him, striking him, the complaint against her states. Ross told authorities the car hit him but that he avoided being run over. Strong’s mother, who was at the trailer park during the fight, told authorities she saw Strong hit Ross with the car.
The two left the scene in the Camaro as law enforcement arrived and were stopped a short distance away on County Road 28, west of the depot, by a Greensboro police officer and a Hale County sheriff’s deputy.
A sheriff’s captain who arrived at the stop wrote that Ross had blood on his face and clothing and became irate while describing the fight, cursing and walking into the roadway near several homes despite being told repeatedly to calm down.
Strong’s mother and two young brothers were present and saw the behavior, the complaint states.
Both were booked into the Hale County Jail, and bond was set at $6,000 for Strong and $500 for Ross, according to court records dated August 6.
