The Greensboro Garden Club has named the yard of Scott and Tammy Brown of Main Street its October Yard of the Month.
Scott Brown grew up in the house, which his family bought in 1981 and sold in 1995. He and his wife, Tammy, bought it and moved in during 2025.
The previous owner left them a clean slate for landscaping, and they have made the yard their own, choosing the plants and creating its outdoor spaces.
Tammy Brown has been developing a wildflower garden and adding plants around her birdbath to draw birds. The Browns have been back in the house a little over a year, and the club pointed to the lawn, the shrubs and the flower beds they are putting in.
The club’s Yard of the Month program runs April through December. Nominations of yards in Greensboro can be texted to 334-663-7433.
