Flora Mae Dillard Taylor, known as Ollie Mae, 83, of Greensboro, died Tuesday, July 7, at Hale County Hospital.
She was born February 2, 1943, in Greensboro to the late Robert and Emma Coleman Dillard. At an early age she joined St. Mary Church (formerly A.M.E.) of Greensboro, where she served faithfully until her health failed.
She attended Hale County Training School. She was married to the late Luther Chester Taylor, and to this union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Coleman-Palmer and John Ella Dillard; three brothers, Robert Dillard Jr., Joseph Dillard and Walter Dillard; and two grandsons, Jonathon Lee and Antonio Lee.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Taylor Diggins; three sons, Ronald (Deborah) Taylor, Anthony Taylor of Detroit, Mich., and Steven Taylor of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Estella Kelly of Atlanta, Ga., Gloria (David) Williams and Betty Lewis of Greensboro; one granddaughter, Jaleesa Diggins; five grandsons, Luther Taylor, Anthony Taylor Jr., Dantrile Lee, Antwan Lee and Christopher Taylor; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 11, at St. Mary A.M.E. Church in Greensboro, with Rev. Joe Lee Hamilton Jr., pastor, and Rev. Roy Washington, associate minister, officiating.
