Hale County will hold county-wide weekend cleanups over two upcoming weekends as part of the “Don’t Drop it on Hale” campaign, with dumpster sites placed across the county for residents to drop off approved items.
The first cleanup weekend, July 31 through August 2, will have three sites: across from D’Rays in Sawyerville, at Alabama Highway 60 and County Road 34, and at Alabama Highway 69 and County Road 44.
The second weekend, August 7–9, will have five sites: Alabama Highway 25 and County Road 49, Old Highway 80 near the Gallion Post Office, County Road 16 near the Lock 5 Fire Station, County Road 21 and Raven Road, and Highway 61 and County Road 7.
Items not allowed include trees or brush, chemicals, paint cans of any kind, propane tanks, freezers, refrigerators, batteries, flammable liquids, construction material, household trash and fire extinguishers.
