Friends congratulate Laramie Long, a graduate of Greensboro West High School Class of 1995, for his recent academic achievement. On May 11, 2024, Mr. Long received his Master of Divinity Degree from the Samuel De- Witt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.

Long pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama, where he majored in Criminal Justice and Social Work.

His dedication to service is evident through his military career; Long is a retired disabled combat veteran of the United States Army, having been deployed to Iraq in 2003 and 2009, and to Afghanistan in 2010.

In addition to his academic and military accomplishments, Long is deeply involved in his community. He serves as the President of the Greensboro Community Youth Baseball League and as the Chaplain of the Greensboro High School Raider football team. His commitment to ministry spans 24 years, during which he has had the opportunity to minister across the United States and abroad.

Long is the proud father of six children and the son of Larry Madison and Minnette Smith.
