Theatre Tuscaloosa’s play “Erma Bombeck” will be performed at the Greensboro Opera House on Sunday, March 3 at 3:00, having earlier been performed in Tuscaloosa in October.
Theatre Tuscaloosa is a professional theatre group, noted for its stellar productions, and the Greensboro Opera House is thrilled and grateful that they are willing to bring this production to Greensboro.
“Erma Bomberg captured the frustrations of her generation by asking, ’If life is a bowl of cherries, what am I doing in the pits?’ This is the story behind this beloved humorist who championed women’s lives with wit that sprang from the most unexpected place—the truth.
“This one-woman show features Carol DeVelice as Erma Bombeck. DeVelice has been acting with Theatre Tuscaloosa since 1977. Starring in over 45 shows, DeVelice is sure to bring Erma Bombeck back to life on the stage with quick wit and laughter.
‘We are thrilled to have Carol DeVelice leading this show,’ Director Tina Turley said. ‘I have worked with Carol for years, and every show, she brings largerthan- life talent to our stage. She is a must see as Erma Bombeck.’” (taken from media release by Theatre Tuscaloosa)
A Greensboro audience will have the rare opportunity to attend this “must see” performance right here at Greensboro’s Opera House. A reception will follow. Special thanks is owed to the Alabama State Council for the Arts for their support of this performance.
Upcoming events at the Greensboro Opera House will be a performance by the Marion Military Band on Friday, March 15 at 7:00 and a concert by the Shelton State Community College choir at 7:00 on Friday, April 19.
