Herman Leroy Green, Sr., aged 75, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on January 25, 2024. Born on November 15, 1948, Mr. Green was the beloved son of the late James Johnson and Elnora Green, and the devoted husband to the late Melissa J. Green.
Mr. Green is survived by his three sons, Herman Green Jr. and his wife Rhonda, Michael Haywood and his wife Valicia, and Donald Green and his wife Thawanthia. He also played a significant role in the lives of two bonus sons, Maurice Collins and Eric Wilkerson, and raised his granddaughters, Denise Green and Ashley Green- Beasley (married to Roderick), as if they were his own daughters. His legacy continues through his brother, David Green, his fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who will cherish his memory.
A Celebration of Life service was held in Mr. Green’s honor on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, located at 1481 County Road 92, Sawyerville, AL 36776. Mr. Green’s body was available for viewing one hour prior to the service. Following the service, his interment took place in the church cemetery, officiated by Pastor Frank Lyles.
