Flora Croom Paige, better known as “Lady,” passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on February 9, 1932, to William Bill and Nancy Love Croom, she embraced Christianity at an early age at St. Paul Baptist Church and later became a devoted member of Greenleaf Missionary Baptist Church.

Flora received her associate degree from Concordia College in Selma, Alabama. Her life was marked by the loss of her beloved husband, Deacon James Sie Paige, and her sisters Dorothy Croom, Alice (Ben) Cannon, and Geneva (Clarence) Robinson, all from Greensboro, Alabama. She is survived by her sister, Ethel Mauldin, of District Heights, Maryland.

Flora’s legacy lives on through her eight children, Carolyn (Jimmy) Coleman, Cathy Agnew, Cedric (Mary) Paige, Tawanna Jackson, Alvia Paige, Alexis Tate Paige, Eric (Betrina) Paige, and Calandra (Rev. Michael) Wiggins. She was a cherished grandmother to twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and a respected sister-in-law to Sarah P. Mauldin and brother-in-law Tom A. Paige. Her extended family includes many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will hold her memory dear.

Her life was celebrated on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Greenleaf Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Carlier H. Agnew officiating.
