Shelton State Community College (SSCC) Dual Enrollment summer application is now open. Returning and new Dual Enrollment students are eligible for one free course that includes tuition, books, and fees. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Downtown Greensboro merchants are planning a special shopping night ahead of Valentine’s Day with a “Cupid’s Cocktail Hour” on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. Several stores will stay open after hours so shoppers can finish their Valentine’s Day buying while enjoying an evening stroll downtown. Organized by the Greensboro Alabama Area Business and Tourism Association, the event invites residents to “shop, sip, and visit” local businesses and spend the evening in Downtown Greensboro.
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Greensboro will hold its annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on Tuesday, Feb. 17, in the parish hall at 905 Church Street in Greensboro. Serving will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and tickets are $5 per person or $15 for families of four or more. Tickets may be purchased at the door. The community is invited to come out for good food and fellowship on the eve of Lent.
