Magnolia Homemakers and Community Leaders met on July 18 at Hale County Extension auditorium. Nancy Jennings, president, presided. She announced that July is Cancer Survivor Month and presented a gift to a member who is a cancer survivor.
Members celebrated the life of Rollanda Cothran who was a faithful member and secretary of Magnolia Homemakers.
July hostesses were Nikki McGillivray and Janelle James. Nikki presented an educational program on sun exposure – sunscreen, heat stroke, humidity – as well as pest control. She included practical tips and a slide show to reinforce information.
Cultural arts entries for the state meeting are due at Magnolia Homemakers’ August 15 meeting.
