Eliza Hamilton Reaves, aged 92, of Greensboro, Alabama, peacefully passed away on May 9, 2023.
Eliza was born on April 13, 1931, to the late Willie and Hattie Hamilton of Greensboro, Alabama, the youngest of ten children. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age at Salem Baptist Church.
In her early life, Eliza married the late Arthur Green, and to this union, three children were born: the late Hattie Green Mosley, the late Willie Green, and Arthur Green, Jr., of Tuscaloosa, AL.
Later in life, Eliza met and married the late Cornelius Reaves. From this union, five children were born: Ivory (Clara) Reaves of Decatur, GA, Jackie D (Erma) Reaves of Greensboro, AL, Glendora (James) Chambers of Tuscaloosa, AL, Timothy Kennedy Reaves of Dallas, TX, and Noah (Grace) Reaves of Tuscaloosa, AL.
She is survived by her devoted grandchildren, Jayne Chambers, Kenny James Chambers, and Shanetta Reaves Thomas all of Tuscaloosa, AL; a devoted son-in-law, James E. Chambers of Tuscaloosa, AL, and a caring and devoted cousin, Ophelia Reed.
Her memories will forever be cherished by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Services were held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Greensboro, AL, with Rev. Dr. J. C. Carter officiating and Rev. Joe Lee Hamilton, Jr., serving as Pastor.
