Downtown Greensboro will come alive this Saturday, April 22, as the town’s first Main Street Community Festival. The event is being sponsored by Hale County Hospital and organized by this year’s Project Horseshoe Farm Hospital Fellows.

Greensboro is celebrating its bicentennial this year, and the festival kicks off the celebration of the town’s 200th birthday.

Organizers say there will be musical entertainment, including headliners ‘The Tip-Tops,’ who will be traveling from Mobile to perform. A stage for for the musical performers will be set up just off Main Street in the parking lot behind the Greensboro Police Department. Main Street itself will host vendors, food trucks, and other booths and entertainment.

A planned parade has been canceled for this year’s event, said organizers, but more musical acts than originally expected will be performing.

Music will begin at 11:00 a.m. that day, with the Tip-Tops going on from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 that night.

Other planned events include free cooking classes provided by the Extension Office and free exercise classes lead by local community members all hosted at Project Horseshoe Farm on the festival morning.

Come out to downtown Greensboro this weekend and join in the fun while celebrating our great community!
