The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper will be 5:30 – 7:00pm, Feb 21 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in the parish hall.

Shrove Tuesday marks the beginning of the 40 day Lenten fasting period when the faithful were forbidden to eat meat, eggs, butter, or milk. The families needed to use up all the eggs, butter, and milk so they would not spoil over the 40 days (not including Sundays) till Easter Sunday. Today the Shrove Tuesday pancake tradition lives on in Western Europe, the United States, Canada, and Australia.

The cost will be $5 per plate ($2 for small children), or $15 for a family of 4 or more.
