A storytelling workshop led by nationally acclaimed storyteller Delores Hydock is planned at the Greensboro Opera House on Saturday, Jan. 31.
The day-long workshop will invite participants to share their own stories and learn techniques for telling them in their own way, with Hydock offering tips drawn from her years of performing and teaching across the country.
The workshop will run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 to 4:30 p.m., and is limited to 20 participants.
Registration is $15, payable on arrival, and preregistration is required by contacting Winnie Cobbs at 334-507-7350 or Buzzy Barnette at 334-624-6878. Participants are asked to come with an idea for a short five-minute story they would like to develop.
On Sunday, Feb. 1, at 2:30 p.m., the public is invited back to the Opera House for a free program where workshop participants will share the stories they have worked on. The event will include refreshments and an opportunity to visit with the storytellers and Hydock.
