Greensboro Elementary teacher earns Early Career Award

Greensboro Elementary School third grade teacher Mrs. Diegel has been selected for an Early Career Award and will be honored Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Alabama Literacy Association Conference luncheon at the Wynfrey in Birmingham.

A 2024 graduate of the University of Alabama, Mrs. Diegel was born and raised in Pennsylvania and emphasizes a strong literacy foundation in her classroom. School leaders note that 100 percent of her third graders last year scored above the cut score on the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program. Principal Stephanie Richey called her “a dynamic asset” to Greensboro Elementary School.
