Dorothy Mae “Bit” Taylor Watts, 63, of Hale County, entered eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, at DCH Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 1, 1962, in Hale County to Velma Taylor and Floyd Banks, she was lovingly raised by her stepfather, Albert Taylor. Dorothy confessed Christ at an early age at Friendship Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa and later became a devoted member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Greensboro.
A 1981 graduate of Greensboro East High School, Dorothy continued her education at Judson College in Marion and built a lifelong career in health care. Known for her gentle spirit and servant’s heart, she was tireless in comforting others and will be remembered for her warmth, kindness and love of family. She was a proud Auburn Tigers fan.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Velma Taylor; father, Floyd Banks; and husband, Harold Watts.
Survivors include seven sisters, Sharon (Marvin) Johnson, Gazelle (Viera) Horton, Lola Heard, Donna (Larry) Hudgins, Rosie (Jackson) Edwards, Dorothy White and Gloria (Jessie) Edwards; her longtime companion, James Adams; and a host of nieces, nephews, greatnieces and great-nephews whom she cherished as her own.
Service: 12 noon, Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at Washington & Paige Mortuary Chapel, 17745 Alabama Highway 25 N, Greensboro, with Pastor Calvin Johnson officiating.
