The Into Light Project art exhibit will be displayed at Engle Gallery, 1301 Main Street, Greensboro, from November 1 to 23. This exhibit, organized by a national nonprofit, features portraits and stories of individuals who have died from drug addiction. Alabama is the twelfth state to host this event, with five more states scheduled in 2025. Entitled Drug Addiction: Real People, Real Stories, Continuing the Conversation, the exhibition includes 41 graphite portraits of individuals who died from addiction in Alabama. Each portrait is paired with a narrative about the individual’s life. At the end of the exhibition, the framed portraits and narrative catalog are gifted to the families. A high-tech aluminum duplicate of the exhibit will also travel across central and northern Alabama. The opening reception is on November 4, from 4-7 p.m. Regular hours are Tuesday- Friday, 2:30-5:30 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information, visit IntoLightProject.org or contact Georgia Rhodes (334-300-2691) or Eve Engle (334-663-7433).
