Southern Academy’s golf team took home first place in a tournament held this week at Lakeview Country Club in Greensboro. Team member Nick Arnold earned the Low Medalist award, and Hamner Lewis qualified to play in the state tournament.
A Newbern-based limited partnership is asking a Hale County circuit judge to void the City of Greensboro’s closure of a section of Airport Loop Road, arguing the city vacated a public road that does not lie inside its municipal limits. Two people were arrested August 6 after a fight the previous afternoon at Thomas Trailer Park on County Road 28. Ja’Meria Denise Strong, 20, of Greensboro, was arrested for domestic violence, third degree (assault). Tonydreon Lavosier Ross, 19, of Newbern, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Both charges are misdemeanors.
