Newbern woman indicted for promoting prison contraband at Hale Co. jail

A Newbern woman has been indicted in Hale County Circuit Court on charges of promoting prison contraband. Trenyce Lashay Rollins, 19, of Newbern, was arrested on the charges Nov. 21 of last year, according to court records.

The indictment, returned during the April session of the Hale County Grand Jury, accuse Rollins of attempting to bring marijuana into the Hale County Jail. Rollins was also indicted for possession of marijuana for personal use.

Court records indicate that Rollins has been released on a $6500.00 bond while the case makes its way through court.

The case is set for arraignment on June 20, 2024.
