Officers from Hale County Sheriff’s Department, Moundville Police Department, and Greensboro Police Department were among those from around the area who rushed to Hillcrest High School on Tuesday morning in response to a report of an active shooter on campus.
The report, which turned out to be a hoax, was one of several such reports made regarding schools throughout Alabama that day. It follows reports, also untrue, of threats to local schools in Perry and Hale Counties in recent weeks.
