Haley Marie Hoggle and Zola Grace Rose have been named Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Hale County High School graduating class of 2022.
Haley Hoggle, HCHS Valedictorian, is the daughter of Bo and Aimee Hoggle. Though heavily involved in both school and church activities, Haley has earned a calculated 101.12 valedictory average while enrolled in Advanced Academic Endorsement and Advanced Placement courses. She has had the privilege of being enrolled in dual enrollment courses since the 10th grade.
Haley is currently the president of the Student Government Association. She also has served as Drum Major for the Hale County Marching Wildcats since her sophomore year. Haley also plays the trumpet and the French horn in the concert band and is a teacher’s aide for the 6th grade beginner band class. Haley is also a member of the National Honor Society where she is Vice President. She has served as one of her school’s Peer Helpers. Haley was privileged to represent HCHCS at American Legion Girls State where she learned about leadership and American patriotism.
Haley’s community involvement includes being a member of Moundville Baptist Church. She serves in vicinities of Women’s Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Praise Team, and Youth Ministry. She has served on her church’s mission team, and she plans to serve in Alaska this summer. Haley has also completed the Counselor in Training program at Worldsong Missions Place; she will serve as a Counselor at Worldsong this summer. Haley’s volunteer experiences include assisting with American Red Cross blood drives at school and attending the Moundville Boys and Girls Club where she was a junior staff member. Haley also works part-time at Chicken Salad Chick.
Upon graduating high school, Haley plans to attend Troy University where she will study History Education, European/Asian/African History (Grades 6-12). She is a recipient of the Scholars Award. She plans to be involved in the Sound of the South band where she will be a Marching Trojan.
Haley is the granddaughter of Mervin Hoggle and the late Sylvia Hoggle, Hayward and Teresa Hartley, Frances Spidle, and the late Debra Hartley.
Zola Rose, HCHS Salutatorian, is the daughter of Enoch and Vangi Rose. She is currently enrolled in Hale County High school’s Advanced Diploma classes with an emphasis and concentration on subjects leading toward a college preparatory diploma. Though heavily involved in a number of extracurricular activities, Zola has earned a calculated salutatory grade point average of 4.3 (101.07) while enrolled in Advanced Academic Endorsement and Advanced Placement courses. She has had the privilege of being enrolled in dual enrollment courses since the 10th grade.
Zola is a member of the National Honor Society and the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy. She is currently parliamentarian for the Student Government Association and secretary for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization. She is also a member of the Hale County High School Marching and Concert Band and Thriveway’s Peer helper organization.
Zola is an active member of Greensboro Baptist Church and enjoys volunteering in Vacation Bible School. Her volunteer experiences include assisting with American Red Cross blood drives at school and teacher’s aide.
Upon graduating high school, Zola plans to attend the University of North Alabama where she will study Computer Science. She is a recipient of their Computing Excellence Scholarship.
Zola is the granddaughter of the late Barbara Rose, and the late John and Patricia Volpel.
