A Uniontown woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on U.S. Highway 80 in Dallas County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Kimeia A. Bennett, 43, was fatally injured when the 2011 Hyundai Sonata in which she was a passenger left the roadway, struck a guardrail, and overturned at approximately 3:50 a.m. on May 3. Bennett was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected, and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to ALEA Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey.
The driver, Keshaun M. Jones, 25, of Uniontown, and a second passenger, Kanisha L. Bennett, 35, of Tuscaloosa, were both injured and transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The crash occurred on U.S. 80 near Dallas County Road 209, approximately eight miles west of Selma. ALEA troopers continue to investigate.
