Henry Banks was born on September 5, 1938, to the late Mary Banks and Henry Banks. He confessed his faith at an early age as a member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Sawyerville, Alabama. He wedded his wife, Lucy Banks, in 1959, and to this union six children were born.
He was called home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucy, his daughters Laura Tinker and Maggie (Curtis) Deddrick, his grandson Henry Banks IV, and his sisters Doris Lucille Banks, Annabelle Robertson, and Ruby Jean Banks.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories his sisters Lillie Dora Marks of Greensboro, Alabama, and Ora Deloris Lee of Detroit, Michigan; his daughter Cynthia Banks of Lafargeville, New York; his sons Linton Banks (Maria) of Suffolk, Virginia, and Henry Banks and Curtis (Michelle) Banks of Cleveland, Ohio; his grandson Jason Williams of Sawyerville, Alabama; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Homegoing services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, 14757 Alabama Highway 14, Sawyerville, with Pastor Gary Allen officiating.
