In order to beautify the town, Greensbor Garden Club members purchased 22 large ceramic containers and placed them at businesses on Main Street Greensboro. Club members purchased the plants and potting soil, including Arbrevida shrubs, trailing ivy, red petunias, and vincas for each pot. Each business was given a watering container and has agreed to keep their container watered throughout the year.
In early September containers will be a contest where the plantings will be evaluated and the best looking container will be given will win a prize from the Garden Club.
Pictured here, Karen Merrill, Georgia Rhodes, and Eve Engle are planting the containers. LaMar Merrill had previously put in all the potting soil and shrubs along with ivy streamers.

Flowering plants came from Browns Nursery in Tuscaloosa. The Plant Lady in Tuscaloosa sold the containers at a discount.
