A recent tour where Family and Consumer Science teachers learned about catfish at Kyser Family Farms in Greensboro will receive statewide and national exposure with a feature on Simply Southern TV.
The show will premiere locally on Sunday, Jan. 12, on Montgomery channels WAKA-TV 8 at 5:30 a.m. and WNCF-TV 32 at 10:30 a.m. The episode will rebroadcast on national cable network RFD-TV on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 3 p.m. Central time.
“Catfish farming is a huge part of the economy in west Alabama, and that’s why the Alabama Catfish Producers sponsored this event,” said Simply Southern TV cohost Mary Wilson. “Students in Family and Consumer Science classes learn a lot about cooking, and it’s important for them to learn how they can prepare catfish and that they should always look for U.S. farm-raised catfish labels on packaging.”
Every week, viewers can catch the show on the following channels:
- WAKA-TV 8 in Montgomery on Sundays at 5:30 a.m.
- WPMI-TV 15 in Mobile on Sundays at 6 a.m.
- WBMA-TV 33/40 in Birmingham on Sundays at 6:30 a.m.
- WAFF-TV 48 in Huntsville on Sundays at 9 a.m.
