The Greensboro Opera House will host the second annual “Celebration of Christmas” on Sunday, December 1, at 3:00. Once again, this celebration will feature performers from throughout the community.
Participating will be choirs from the Greensboro Baptist Church, the First Methodist Church, the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, the First Presbyterial Church, and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Randall Terry, Zena Wiggins, and Marsha Harrow will each be conducting, while Dianne Colburn will serve as pianist. The program will include local soloists Karmen McCrory and Valerie and Tyler Clements, and, for the first time, Meghan Bonds will perform a ballet solo from “The Nutcracker Suite.” As an additional attraction, “Elvis,” in the person of Dylan Colburn, will drop in for a special Christmas visit. Musical selections will be both religious and secular, and the audience will be given an opportunity to participate in a “sing along” of Christmas favorites.
“A Celebration of Christmas” was received with such enthusiasm when it was held by the Greensboro Opera House for the first time last year that it is hoped it will become a memorable Christmas event, not just again this year, but annually. Admission will be free with a reception to follow.
The Greensboro Opera House will continue hosting a variety of events in 2025 and will announce the details as they are finalized. Meanwhile come and join in “A Celebration of Christmas!
