Alberta Hambright, known as Momma/Grandma and Aunt Alberta, was born on June 5, 1929, to the late Wiley and Fannie Pickett in Hale County, Alabama. She transitioned from her earthly home on August 15, 2024, at Diversicare Nursing Home of Greensboro, Alabama.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Pruitt Spring Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member.

Alberta is preceded in death by her husband, John O. Hambright; two sons, Orvin “Boe” Hambright and Eddie “Big Stuff” Hambright; her one and only daughter, Bertia Mae Ryans; four grandchildren, LaKizzie Jones, Clyde Hambright Jr., JaQue Douglas, and Orvin Hambright Jr.; and a daughter-in-law, Sheila Hambright.

She was married to the love of her life, John O. Hambright, who preceded her in death. Unto their union, they had 15 children, including twins who died at birth.

She leaves to cherish her memories ten sons: Eunice (Frog & Betty) of Greensboro, Alabama; Willie C (Betty) of Greensboro, Alabama; Richard (Linda) Hambright of Moundville, Alabama; Charles Hambright of Greensboro, Alabama; Ersell (Katherine) Hambright of Gallion, Alabama; Lloyd (Dianne) of Moundville, Alabama; Clyde Hambright of Moundville, Alabama; James (Pamela) Hambright of Greensboro, Alabama; Marvin Hambright of Marietta, Georgia; and William Hambright of Greensboro, Alabama. She is also survived by 41 grandchildren, 74 greatgrandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. A devoted son-in-law, Samuel Ryans, Sr., and a daughter-in-law, Clara Hambright, of Commerce Township, Michigan, also survive her. Additionally, she is survived by three special nieces, Adell King, Linda Coleman, and Elmira Ryans, family friend Marcus Wilson, and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.

A Celebration of Life was held on on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Willow Spring Missionary Baptist Church in Moundville, Alabama. Following the service, interment took place at Burroughs Cemetery.
