Stewart Methodist Church will have their annual Homecoming on Sunday, August 25th, 2024, at 10:45 AM. Keith Duncan will be this year’s guest speaker.

Keith grew up in the Stewart community and attended Stewart Methodist Church until approximately 1993. He is the son of Stanley and Lillie Duncan and grandson of Sydney and Ellareen Duncan, all of whom attended Stewart Methodist for most of their adult lives. Keith is a 1983 graduate of Hale County High School, graduated from the University of Alabama in 1988 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and accepted a job with Phifer Inc. immediately after graduation. He later earned an MS in Mechanical Engineering in 1996.

Keith is married to Beth Fowler of Berry, Alabama, and they are active members of Saint Mark Church in Northport. Beth teaches first grade at Fawcett-Vestavia and has 35 years experience with the Tuscaloosa County system. They have two children of whom they are very proud: Sydney and Maggie. Sydney earned her chemical engineering degree at Mississippi State in 2021 and is a recent graduate of the Chicago-Kent School of Law in Chicago, Illinois. She will begin work next month in Chicago with K & L Gates as an IP and Patent attorney. Maggie is a senior at the University of Alabama pursuing a STEM MBA degree in Civil Engineering. At this point in their lives, Keith and Beth are “seasoned” in their careers, and eyeing retirement and the excitement that comes along with that!

A nursery will be available during the service for children birth- age 4. Following the morning service, lunch will be served at noon, and an old fashioned sing-along will begin at 1:30 pm and last approximately an hour. All are welcomed and encouraged to attend this special day of fellowship. The Rev. Michael Cobb is the pastor at Stewart.
