State agents arrest woman for selling alcohol to minor

A resident of Newbern, Verna Mae Jefferson, was arrested on June 11 for allegedly providing alcohol to a minor at the Greensboro Texaco. According to court records, the incident took place in Hale County and was detailed in an Alabama Uniform Nontraffic Citation and Complaint.

Jefferson, 60, was charged with violating Section 28-3A-25(a)(3) of the Code of Alabama 1975, which prohibits giving alcoholic beverages to persons under the legal drinking age.

In documents filed in Hale County District Court, state law enforcement agents reported that Jefferson sold alcohol to a minor.
