Annie Stewart Wyatt, age 92, of Greensboro, passed away Monday, May 27th, 2024. Services were held on Monday, June 3rd, at 11:00 at Antioch Baptist Church in Greensboro with the Rev. Arthur Thomas officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery. The family received visitors immediately prior to the service, beginning at 10:00.
Annie is preceded in death by her husband, Otha “Bay” Wyatt; parents Millard and Claudine Stewart; and siblings Ora Jean Crawford, Mildred Etheridge, Thomas Stewart, Leroy Stewart, and Roberta Taylor.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Wyatt (Judy) and Marilyn King (Pete); grandchildren Angie Denmark (Tate), Beth Harding (Jason), Meredith Oakley, and Ginger Johnston (Jake); great grandchildren Preston and Harrison Askew; Ariel Denmark; Jackson, Nicolas and Jenna Harding; Sam and Cardinal Rae Oakley; and Hunter (Jessica), Hayden and Hailey Johnston; and brother Anniston Millard Stewart (Elizabeth).
Annie lived in Greensboro for most of her life.
She and her husband owned Wyatt’s Grocery for many years. She spent her later years working as a center manager at Golden Years Senior Center.
Annie’s cooking was legendary amongst her family and friends, she was especially known for her homemade coconut cakes and sourdough bread. Annie was a sweet soul and was loved so much by so many.
Her great grandchildren served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the residents and staff of Heritage Assisted Living.
