On May 11, Greensboro resident Whit Taylor received his associate’s degree from Marion Military Institute, graduating with numerous accolades. In keeping with family tradition, he is the son of two MMI alumni: Brandon Taylor and Buffy Rinehart Walters.
As a sophomore cadet, Taylor held the peer leadership positions of Delta Company Commander and Swamp Fox Commander. A member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, he also represented MMI on the 2024 All-Alabama Academic Team and received the Alumni Leadership Award. During Honors Convocation, he was recognized as Best All-Around Cadet and Literature Award winner.
Having earned a transfer scholarship to Auburn University, Taylor plans to join the Army ROTC program at AU and major in business administration. Taylor, a graduate of Southern Academy, completed the Marion Military Institute Spring 2024 semester on the college’s Dean’s List. This academic achievement requires a GPA of 3.5 or above. Enrolled in the civilian Leadership Education Program (with no military obligation), Taylor is now a Marion Made alumnus.
