D.A. Turner to observe National Crime Victims’ Rights Week here April 23

District Attorney Robert H. Turner, Jr., will be hosting the 4th Judicial Circuit’s National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, beginning April 23. Talks will be given at events that will be featured in Hale, Wilcox, Bibb, Perry, and Dallas counties. Guest speaker, Kristina Rose, Director of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office for Victims of Crime, will be on hand to address the theme of each talk: Options, Services, and Hope for Crime Survivors.

On April 23, Hale County will open the week of speaking engagements at the Hale County Courthouse, beginning at 12 noon. For more information, contact Samantha Williams at 334-624-1569. Free food and drinks will be served at each event. Attendants of the Dallas County event, which will be the last in the series on April 27, may commemorate loved ones who were victims of crime with a tent, table, and balloons. The Dallas County engagement will be at 12 noon at the Selma Amphitheater.

These talks are held in honor of Victims’ Rights Week, and is meant to commemorate victims of crime and their families.
